SKYMODE ENHANCES CROSS-CHANNEL FULFILLMENT TOOLS WITH PREMIUM IN-STORE PICKUP FEATURE

SkyMode further bridges the gap between e-commerce and brick-and-mortar experiences through enhanced features for in-store pickup of online orders.

February 14, 2017 --- Seattle, WA --- SkyMode®, a revolutionary mobile-first e-commerce platform that empowers retailers to sell to their customers with one touch on the mobile device, announced today the release of its new multiple-location, in-store pickup cross-channel fulfillment feature. Flexible in-store pickup tools further enhance SkyMode’s robust feature suite by allowing its clients to complement their online One Touch Offers® with “in-store” brick-and-mortar interactions with consumers.

Cross-channel fulfillment, an important component of which is buy online, pickup in store (“BOPIS” and its variants), has become critical part of the customer experience for multichannel purchasers. More than one in two shoppers have reported picking up an online order in-store in the last year, 73% said they did so to avoid shipping fees and 32% cited convenience as the second most common reason, according to Internet Retailer.

It also serves as a differentiator from Amazon, which currently lacks an extensive network of physical stores to support pickups.”

The release of the enhanced multiple-location, in-store pickup feature helps SkyMode’s clients, especially brick-and-mortar retailers, address operational and fulfillment challenges, and creates greater cohesion between online and offline purchases experiences. Clients can leverage One Touch Offers to craft online promotions with a pickup emphasis as a standalone value-add for customers, or as part of a broader strategy to drive foot traffic for an on-premise purchase experience. According to UPS, 46% of shoppers have purchased additional items in-store while picking up an item purchased online.  Beyond the aforementioned benefits, in-store pickup option is important piece in the battle for physical retailers to retain relevance as more sales move online and mobile and in-store experiences become increasingly comingled.
